MoMoUP Oil-Absorbing Sheet Roll

20160228_221519I’ve come across and seen  oil blotting/ absorbing sheets/ papers before and have always been curious about them. Not so much in the Winter time but more in the late Spring and through the Summer, my face can get oily around the middle of the brow, under eyes, nose, and chin. I never much thought of it though, but then again, I never knew what I was missing in not using those blotters!

Isn’t this one the cutest though? Super adorable panda packaging! Also it’s small enough to throw in your bag for on the go, which is where you’d want to use it anyway.

These are MoMoUP brand (Shanghai Lily & Beauty Cosmetics Co., Ltd). They call it an Oil-absorbing Sheet Roll and it’s 7m x 70mm (275″ long x 2.75″ wide).

Product description as per the box: “100% Japan imported MINO-WASHI. Naturally absorbs facial oil without removing any makeup.” Function: “mainly used on forehead, nose, chin and other facial oil section.”

Inside of the Panda is the roll of washi paper, and the opening has a serrated edge to tear the paper. The paper is not fully transparent, it allows light through, and is light pink in color. I found that about 2″ was enough to tear off per use, so if there’s about 275″ in the roll, it should last a long time. I used it to dab lightly on my oil-tendency areas and was really surprised that it did, in fact, pick up oil and it left my makeup intact! Awesome! In hindsight, I wish I had been using these things already! The washi paper kind of reminds me of wax paper, less the wax and thinner – if that makes any kind of sense, lol. It’s not as soft as tissue paper, but its surface is smooth and not abrasive at all, so didn’t cause any irritation whatsoever. Plus, since you’re just blotting (like palpating), you’re not rubbing or causing friction.

As you can see (well, sort of) the left is unused, the right is after blotting – the transparency of the paper is a little more apparent where the oil has been absorbed.

It was quick and easy to use!

I’ve also previously reviewed Makeup Remover Pads from MoMoUP.

  1. How cute is that panda packaging! Haha such a nice way to get the right amount of blotting paper to use.

You’re so right, it reminds me of a mini wax/parchment paper which makes me wonder if they make tiny working ovens to use these little sheets in haha 😀
