Rapunzel Liquid Biotin for Hair Growth

As I’ve mentioned in the past, my hair is thin and thinning and I like to try whatever I can and do whatever I can to reverse that condition. Until this product below, I have only ever tried topical application solutions, like serums, hair mask, deep conditioners, oils, shampoos, hair therapies – stuff that I can physically apply directly to my hair and scalp. This one, Rapunzel Liquid Biotin for Hair Growth, however, is one that you ingest and take as a supplement. It comes in an amber glass bottle with a rubber bulb and glass dropper top.

Product description via Amazon:

20160205_132257“GROW STRONGER HAIR AND NAILS FAST – Biotin helps improve the keratin structure of your hair, which is the protein structure that helps stimulate fast and strong hair growth. Biotin also strengthens brittle nails making them less likely to split or break. FAST ABSORBING LIQUID – […] easy to ingest and fast acting in its liquid form. […]  SWEET VANILLA TASTE – […] Infused with all natural cane sugar and organic vanilla, GrowBabes liquid biotin has the perfect amount to not be too sweet. MADE IN THE USA – […] 100% manufactured, label, filled, distributed, and packaged in the United States. None of the components of our products are from overseas. MONEY BACK GUARANTEE – No questions asked. Just return the product for a full refund if you’re unsatisfied with the results.”

I’m not sure if they changed the name of their company, but the bottle I received says “Rapunzel” on the label front, and it also says it on the back “Distributed by Rapunzel”, and not “GrowBabes” as the product description states. Possibly, purely speculative, another product that gets mass produced and then sent out to little distribution companies who then brand it with their own labels.

It can be taken sublingually, meaning that you can take it underneath your tongue. On the bottle it says that the serving is 2 droppers full, but the Amazon product listing says “1 drop a day”. So there is also a difference there. I went with what the bottle said and did 2 droppers full. I dropped it under my tongue before bed time, since it didn’t specify how long to hold the liquid under the tongue, I let it sit there for about a minute before swallowing. Though, I imagine, the longer it sits under your tongue, the more it can absorb. Once it hits your stomach acid, I’m sure the effects and benefits of the biotin lessens.

The only thing about doing it by the dropper “full” is that the amount the dropper picks up each time isn’t always the same. It has been picking up roughly half of the length of the dropper. Also, as the liquid level of the bottle drops, the amount picked up by the dropper will lessen.

The taste is as it says, sweet, but not too sweet, hinting of vanilla, but it also reminds me of something in particular – unfortunately, I haven’t yet been able to think of what it is exactly.

I’ve been taking this for just under two weeks. While I haven’t noticed any change in the texture of my hair, or any lessening of hair loss, I have noticed in the past couple of days that there is a slight thickening of the strands. I have to also note, that I have been using argan oil and an argan oil shampoo at the same time as taking this supplement, so these results could be in combination, but I am not 100% sure. I plan on continuing to take this supplement, as it is a pleasant taste. There is about 2/3rds of the bottle left, and it wouldn’t hurt to see if there is more progress within the next month or so. I made myself a note so I wouldn’t forget to do a review update. 😉

  1. I hope you get results with biotin! Just to let you know, it’s all absorbed in the small intestine (the stomach acid helps digest it) so swallowing it is best (they say under the tongue so it doesn’t get stuck in your cheek or roll off your tongue or something lol). To make it even more effective, I’ve heard of a lot of people taking other B-vitamins along with biotin (but in lower doses because some of the others have a safe upper limit whereas there’s no upper limit on how much biotin you can take) will make the biotin work even better!

  2. haven’t tried anything like this, but i’m curious about the update as i’m guessing this stuff usually takes more time to see bigger improvements.

      • Hi Christine, it was a promotion for part of a review group I’m a member of. I finished the bottle about a week or so ago, the results were pretty much the same as in the review, possibly backtracking a bit, but I also was started up on a couple of new heart meds so I’m sure that has come into play too. I’ve decided to try the Biotin capsule supplements, so will see how that goes! Thanks for stopping by.
