Ulta Haul Part 2.5

TJP_9194This was the 15-piece variety sampler beauty gift bag, Pretty in Pink, from Ulta.com that came in a separate box and shipped later than my order (a huge box, like triple the size of the bag). The bag is the same as the gold rose one, just pink. The contents are different, however, which is always good. I’m too tired to type a whole lot, so I’m copy/pasting lite descriptions from Ulta’s website.

  • Whish cc body cream, “provides instant bronze and shimmer TJP_9195while perfecting your skin.”  After I first read it, I thought it was like a tanning kind of thing with added tone correction, but I don’t think that’s right. The cream is white and shimmery though, so not sure how the bronzing works on this yet.
  • It’s a 10 Miracle Leave-In Lite, “a unique, ultra-light formula for those with fine or short hair. Designed to deliver the same repair, restoration, detangling and de-frizzing agents as their original formula.” I believe the regular version was in the gold bag. Will have to see how this one smells, dratted darn sensitive nose and head of mine!
  • Soap & Glory Hand Food, “softens, smooth’s, and soothes dry, or otherwise hampered hands. A non-greasy hand cream with shea butter, macadamia oil, and marshmallow. Scented with our Original Pink Rose & Bergamot fragrance combines fresh bergamot, mandarin, rose, jasmine, peach, strawberry, and soft musk & amber base notes for skin that is silky soft.” Not really a fan of rose scents, but I love bergamot, citrus, and musk. Will try a small dab of this and see what my tolerance level to it is. *crossing fingers*! {update: after putting a pea size drop on the back of my hand, I really like this scent! It smells really similar, but more subtle, to a perfume I created a while back when I was into making bath and body products. As for the other stuff, smoothing, softening, etc, I can’t see a visible difference between the back of the hand I put it on and the hand I didn’t.}
  • Redken Pillow Proof Blow Dry Express Primer with heat protection, “Microflex stylane creates a ‘thermal blanket’ of flexible silicone resin that protects hair and helps prevent breakage. Trisiloxane and Isododecane allow for quick drying, resulting in a smooth and silky finish.” Another that has a fragrance to it, sigh. This variety sampler is not calling to me as much as the other one is. But that’s a good thing, in a way, more goodies for my giveaway box. 🙂
  • Ulta Brilliant Color Lip Gloss in Sprinkles 09, “Brilliant Color Lip Gloss provides great color payoff with a high shine finish and non-sticky feel. Infused with Aloe and Vitamins A & E, formula hydrates and conditions lips. Gluten free.” I have some Ulta Lip Gloss, but not this color, so yay! It’s a very light shimmery, sheer-looking peachy-straw color.
  • Japonesque Radiance Primer, “ultimate remedy for a complexion that radiates beauty and light. It’s weightless and silky texture glides onto the skin and offers a pearlescent optical imperfection blurring effect. Skin fatigue is swept away. Radiance and luminosity are restored. Reflective pigments attract and diffuse light and add a hyper-real youthful beauty to the skin.” I currently have a love/hate relationship with Nyx’s Pore Filler, on the fence about Too Faced’s Primed & Poreless, kind of sort of like Smashbox’s Photo Finish Foundation Primer Light, and am not loving the splash in the face spritz from Smashbox’s Photo Finish Primer Water – unless I can figure out how not to get giant drops of it on my face when it sprays… so being that I haven’t yet found a go to primer, I’m really curious to try this one. It has a pearly/opalescent sheen that’s intriguing! Might have to try this tomorrow.
  • Clarins‘ UV Plus Anti-Pollution Sunscreen Multi-Protection Broad Spectrum SPF 50, “shields skin from harmful UVA/UVB rays, pollution and free radicals.” Not much more to say about this, really.
  • bareMinerals Multi-Wrinkle Repair, “This clinically proven treatment is created to work on multiple surface layers of the skin, diminishing the look of forehead wrinkles, brow furrows, frown lines, crow’s feet and other noticeable signs of aging.” Hurray for wrinkle repair! Looks like my forehead, under-eye, and neck are getting more pampering.
  • cargo cosmetics Eye Shadow single in Yukon, “Richly pigmented, velvety eye shadow to create a variety of customized looks! Shadow adheres to the skin for a smooth, even application.” I had to get the description from cargocosmetics.com as Ulta doesn’t sell their singles.Yukon is a taupe shimmer, and these singles come in cute little aluminum tins.
  • Benefit Cosmetics high beam, “satiny pink liquid highlighter accents cheek & brow bones for a dewy, radiant glow.” I’m really excited about this one, been wanting to try it. I just placed an order for the Party Poppers 12 Days of Gorgeous set and it has a small one in there too. Hoping it looks amazing on me!
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Vice, “Creamy, long-lasting, award-winning AND waterproof, 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil is the best eye pencil ever, ever, ever!” Oh yeah, travel-size eye liner. Vice is described as a pearly red-eggplant shimmer.
  • dermalogica overnight retinol repair, “Concentrated customizable nighttime retinol treatment cream that accelerates skin renewal and reduces the appearance of skin aging.” Did I get this one in another sampler? Sounds vaguely familiar, need to check.
  • Bio-Oil, “Skincare product infuses skin with rich moisturizers to hydrate and nourish. Bio-Oil Specialist Skincare for Scars, Stretch Marks, Uneven Skin Tone, Aging Skin, Dehydrated Skin can also be used as an after-sun treatment and bath oil.” Too bad I didn’t have this when I was pregnant with my son many many many years ago!
  • Gucci Bamboo Eau de Parfum, “emanates the Gucci woman’s diverse sides: her femininity, confidence, savvy and strength.” I wish I could wear perfumes again! 😦 So sad!
  • CLEAN White Woods Eau de Parfum, “Clean White Woods Eau de Parfum is a woody musk that weaves a cozy, comforting blanket with hints of crisp bergamot leaves, sparkling mandarin, creamy vanilla orchid, sandalwood, praline musks, and a dash of black pepper.” No bueno for me.
  • And another $5 off coupon. I forgot to use the other one on my last purchase when I used all my reward points, next time though!

Whew, that was long! And I lied there were several things in there that called my name, haha, it’s sooooo fun to try new things! The hard part is remembering to document when I try them, so that you all can get another POV on the items.

Swatch updates:

Clinique‘s  Limited Edition All About Shadow
Palette w/shades royal couple, rock violet, CA raspberry beret, concord LE, pearly pink LE, and pink chocolate. (sorry my camera didn’t want to focus, should have put my other lens on) This palette is pretty, had to layer it a few times to get the pigments to pop more. It wiped off too easy with little effort, so it definitely needs a base/primer to keep it on longer.20151030_124028 TJP_9207TJP_9214Top: bellapierre Cosmetics Pink Cheek&Lip Stain – didn’t know if I’d likeit since it was so pink, but I actually do. It’s more pigmented than I initially though and would look lovely on the cheeks with a bit of shimmer added.
Left to Right:
cargo cosmetics Eye Shadow single in Yukon** – nice pigmented taupy bronze color, the pic doesn’t do it justice
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Vice** – it’s supposed to be a pearly red-eggplant color, but it looks more like deep eggplant to me. Love it!
Clinique‘s Long Last Soft Matte Lipstick in Matte Petal – so bright and pink like one of those pink flamingo lawn ornaments. Umm, definitely not for me.
Clinique‘s Superbalm™ Moisturizing Gloss in Raspberry – tinted gloss, nothing out of the ordinary.
Ulta Brilliant Color Lip Gloss in Sprinkles 09 – barely there shimmer.
Clinique‘s Chubby Stick Baby Tint™ Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in Budding Blossom – tinted balm, as with the superbalm, nothing really out of the ordinary.
Bottom: Benefit Cosmetics high beam** – LOVE! Can’t wait to try this as a highlight. Like the cargo eye shadow and the UD eye pencil, I’ll need to retake the photo in better light and with better focus.

** will have to reswatch with better photo
